ABOUT

TRINA HEDQUIST

A little about me:

I am a mother, wife, sister, friend and photographer. I grew up poor and my family never had the luxury of having a camera to capture everyday moments. We only have one family image taken by a professional. My parents couldn't afford much and therefor I never got school yearbooks or even senior portraits. I have very few images of my childhood. Memories and people I hold dear, some of whom have passed on, I will only be able to see in my memory. I cannot share the images with my children and I feel that it is a grave injustice to families and their legacies that there is no evidence they ever lived.

Thus began my journey into photography. It was need and a drive to capture EVERYTHING. From the mundane to the magical. I had my oldest daughter and I was determined there would be a record of her childhood. There would be memories to pass on to generations to come.

As my family grew so did my art of photography. Ironically, my family was pretty tired of my camera in their face so I began to ask friends if I could "practice" with theirs.... and thus a business was born. Word of mouth spread that I wanted to take photos and eventually I began classes to hone this skill that I was being contacted to provide. I see every year as an opportunity for growth. But more importantly I get to help other families provide lasting memories to pass on. This is a driving force inside me. Preserving moments, passing on legacies and sharing in the intimacy that is portraiture.

I know what you're thinking...it sounds hokey. But this is who I truly am and I would love to provide the opportunity to capture your moments to pass on to your future generations. "Life is breathtakingly beautiful, let's capture it."~Trina
